Curriculum

“Education, as a planned endeavour, at a personal level on a small scale or institutional level on a large scale, aims at making children capable of becoming active, responsible, productive and caring members of society. They are made familiar with the various practices of the community by imparting the relevant skills and ideas. The goal of education is supposed to encourage the students to analyse and evaluate their experiences, to ponder and enquire to be inquisitive and to think independently.”

The aim of education is not just to let learners obtain basic knowledge but to make them life-long learners. It is to nurture future citizens who are mentally and physically robust, assertive, confident, empathetic and helpful to the community. They are trained to be intellectually inquisitive and reflexive, develop creative vision and global perspective and accept their moral responsibilities. Our curriculum is very comprehensive, giving due importance to both Scholastic as well as Co-Scholastic areas.

PRE-PRIMARY

  • The curriculum has been designed to give plenty of hands-on opportunities through air writing, sand writing and black board writing.
  • Our Tiny Tots starts the day with Circle Time where students enjoy sitting in a circle, counting heads, listening stories, enacting role pay and general conversation with the kids. Visits are planned according to the EVS projects on transport, sense organs, plants and animals.
  • Show and Tell Activity based on the letter of the week enhances the confidence of the little ones and leads to better understanding of the letter. Kids in the Action Activity makes our budding learners independent and also enhances their fine motor skills.
  • Curriculum in Pre Primary has been designed keeping in mind the Learning objectives of developing Cognitive skills, Emotional skills, Social skills and Motor skills. Children learn to sort, compare, assimilate, observe and infer. Learning languages and Number work primarily focus on development of cognitive skills. Drawing and colouring, cutting and craft activities focus on the development of fine motor skills to explore their world. Letters are introduced


PRIMARY (I TO V)

  • Education is imparted through play-way methods.
  • Suitably designed child-centered curriculum based on phonetics, provides the children with a strong foundation of spelling and vocabulary.
  • Classroom are abuzz with e-Learning, Audio visual aids, Music, PEC (Physical Education in Curriculum), hands on experience through various art and craft tasks.
  • A plethora of choices is given to the students for their work experience classes ranging from creative writing to public speaking, cookery to clay modelling etc.
  • Interactive sessions are held in life skill classes in order to inculcate moral values and to enhance general awareness of the students.
  • CIE curriculum and global education is imparted to make them global learners and competitive enough to face the challenges of the professional world.


SECONDARY (VI TO X)

The curriculum is designed to address seven core areas of learning viz : Languages, Humanities, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Health and Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Computer Science.

Major Contents of our Curriculum Learning area in Middle/Secondary classes

The contents are designed to shape and enhance the prowess of our students.

  • Languages include Hindi, English with focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, along with developing effective communicating proficiencies.
  • Social Science (Geography, History, Economics and Political Science) include the learning of history and culture, geographical environment, global institutions, constitutional values and norms, politics, economy, interpersonal and social interactions, civic responsibilities, and the incorporation of the above-mentioned learning into one’s life.
  • Performing and Visual Arts (Dance, Drama, Music, Drawing, Painting, Crafts) include music, instructions in these arts, aiming to help learners cultivate an interest and appreciation for arts and encourage them to enthusiastically participate in related activities, thus promoting abilities such as imagination, creativity, value arts, and the cultural heritage.
  • Science and technology (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science) include gaining knowledge about matter and energy, nature, the environment, technology, breakthroughs in science. It will focus on knowledge and skills to develop scientific attitude, use and application of such knowledge and skills to improve that quality of life and further use this learning to analyze evaluate, synthesis, create, invent and discover.
  • Mathematics includes acquiring the concepts related to number sense, operation sense, computation, measurement, geometry, probability and statistics, the skill to calculate and organize, and the ability to apply this knowledge and acquired skills in their daily life. It also includes understanding of the principals of reasoning and problem solving.
  • Health and physical Education focuses on the learning for holistic development like mental and physical. Understanding the importance of physical fitness, health, well-being and the factors that contribute to them. Focus of this curriculum is on helping learners develop a positive attitude and commitment to lifelong healthy active living and the capacity to live satisfying productive lives with the help of proper health management, sports fitness and lifestyle choices.
  • These six learning areas are integrated with each other in terms of knowledge, skills (life and livelihood), comprehension, values and attitudes. Learners get opportunities to connect between different areas of knowledge and application. They are encouraged to cognize and appreciate the interconnectedness of all knowledge and the enduring connection between knowledge and values.


SENIOR SECONDARY (XI & XII)

For the purpose of fostering core competences in learners, the curriculum encompasses seven major learning areas, which are: Languages, Mathematics, Sciences, Commerce, Health and Physical Education.

STREAMS OFFERED

Science Stream: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science & Physical Education

Commerce Stream: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science & Physical Education.

Major Contents of each curriculum learning Area in Senior Secondary Classes:

  • Language includes English and focuses on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, along with developing effective communicating proficiencies.
  • Science and Technology (Subjects related to Biology, Chemistry, Physics) include gaining knowledge about matter and energy, nature, the environment, technology, breakthroughs in science. It will focus on knowledge and skills to develop scientific attitude, use and application of such knowledge and skills to improve the quality of life and further use this learning to analyse, evaluate, synthesize, create, invent and discover.
  • Mathematics includes acquiring the concepts related to number sense, operation sense, computation, measurement, geometry, probability and statistics, the skill to calculate and organize, and the ability to apply this knowledge and acquired skills in their daily life. It also includes understanding of the principles of reasoning and problem solving.
  • Commerce (Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics) includes gaining understanding about core business disciplines like the exchange of items of value of products between persons or companies and any such exchange of money for a product, service, or information is considered a deal of commerce.
  • Health and Physical Education focuses on the learning for holistic development like mental and physical. Understanding the importance of physical fitness, health, well-being and the factors that contribute to them. Focus of this curriculum is on helping learners develop a positive attitude and commitment to lifelong healthy active living and the capacity to life satisfying, productive lives with the help of proper health management, sports, fitness and lifestyle choices.
